The Aral Balkan posted a comment to my blog! Cheers mate. The geek meal is a charity event, so I'm more than happy to blog about it.

Joking about it all going wrong for you at FLash on the Beach aside, the main thing that really struck me was your professionalism. Your whole presentation relied on the network, which failed. Yet you held it together and still gave a good talk.

Hey man,

My talk this time is not going to be technical or rely on the Internet so nothing should go wrong -- then again, there's not much you can do if the network stops working (the restart during my talk at FOTB was unnecessary -- it apparently wasn't the Mac refusing to reconnect but the network being down). If only someone had told me earlier that there was a backup line on a separate network (the one that worked later on). We did hold an impromptu (and packed) session that went smashingly well the next day with Branden Dawes (who also couldn't show some of his examples due to Net connection issues) and Mario Klingemann.

In any case, it's a charity event and I'm giving the talk as a favor and not a job.

Thanks for blogging about the event.
